While stuffling around looking at stupid videos on YouTube, I stumbled upon an LED Cube and thought it looked awesome! I had to make one! But of course it would have to be improved upon by using RGB LEDs instead ;-)

Quick budget calculation...

    • 512 LEDs (~$200)
    • Controller (~$35)
    • I/O Expansion buffer (~$40)
    • Other bits (~$25)
    • Time - LOTS!

Having scanned the "Instructable" I figured it was pretty straight forward so I figured I'd work it out as I go along and here is the (almost) finished product!

All that is left for me now is to put it in a case to make it a bit more presentable and to program effects!
